Water shortage is one of the biggest problem the world is currently facing, with various UN agencies at work to contain the widespread shortages. More than half of the world’s population is deprived of usable water or even water for a fact. With no access to clean water, the majority is forced to consume contained water, which leads various stomach and liver ailments. United Nation in its latest press release has announced to fund water desalination plants to purify sea water for consumption. These desalination plants will be installed with enormous capacities at central locations to supply water to as many adjoining areas as possible. This initiative will not only ensure the provision of clean water but also enable vegetation in water deficient areas. In the first phase of the project, 10 desalination plants will be leased by the help of the World Bank, and successively each year 10 of these will be installed to meet the world’s water needs.
